As an explorer you will always wonder where to go next, and it’s nearly impossible for you to settle with any one place. Parks will certainly be one of your choices to have a fun and peaceful day. Delhi gives you huge opportunities to explore and find something new at every corner and turn. We recently came across this newly inaugurated place in the capital, a place worth visiting.
Seven Wonders Park
You might have heard of Seven Wonders Park, in Kota (Rajasthan), where you can see the replicas of all the seven wonders across the globe. The Waste To Wonder, in Delhi, is based on the same theme, but all the wonders in Waste to Wonder are made out of industrial waste that makes it more wonderful and unique! That’s why it is called Waste to Wonder Park.
If you are looking forward for having a day full of fun, this place deserves being on top of your list, as it’s one of the cheapest place to visit in Delhi.
How to reach Waste to Wonder Park?
The nearest metro station to reach waste to wonder, is Nizamuddin Metro Station, that is on Pink Line of the Delhi Metro network. After reaching there you might wonder, how to reach the park? but that hardly is a problem. As soon as you come out of the Nizamuddin Metro Station, you’ll find many battery rickshaw going there, they are cheap, charging a bare sum of Rs.10, they’ll drop you just in front of the park’s entrance.
If you are a stroller, you can take a walk to the park from the metro station, it will hardly take 7-8 minutes to reach you there, Google Maps can guide you, as waste to wonder is very close to the metro station, at a distance of just 650 meters.
Ticket cost at Waste to Wonder Park
After reaching there, you are only one step behind of having a wonderful day. Now you have to wait in a queue for getting the ticket. Ticket to this place is very cheap, and it depends upon the age of the person.
0-2 Year old – Free of cost
3-12 Year old – Rs.25
13-64 Year old – Rs.50
65+ Year old – Free of cost
One thing we found really absurd over there was, people had no patience to wait for their turn in the queue, to get the ticket. We understand the excitement and eagerness everyone has to see the beautiful wonders and adore them, but we should wait for our turn, instead of creating chaos, and starting the fun adventure with bitter arguments.
A small tour
The entrance of waste to wonder, is beautiful, it explains you in a glimpse what awaits your visit in here.
As you enter in the park, you will be welcomed by a water fountain. To the left, a beautiful waste to wonders written with giant letters
and a giant SDMC written with steel net on the right.
From here the journey of exploring the seven wonders from all around the globe begins.
These wonders are made up of the industrial waste, like that of cycle chain, car engines, waste auto parts and things like that. We were not only amazed by the beauty of this place, but also how beautifully the wastes have been transformed into something wonderful and so unique.
All of it was constructed in the middle of thick greenery, which is the most adorable feature of this place.
The walk to wonder starts with
‘The Pyramid Of Giza’ from Egypt
‘Leaning Tower Of Pisa’ from Italy
‘Eiffel Tower’ of France
‘Colosseum’ of Italy
‘Taj Mahal’ of India
‘Statue of Liberty’ of USA
and it finally ends on,
‘Christ The Redeemer’ from Brazil
But the wonder is still not finished after having a look of beautiful 7 wonders, in the end you’ll find a beautiful little bridge across a mini waterfall. The gush of flowing water is peaceful to see and hear.
Best time to visit Waste to Wonder
Timings – 11 AM – 11 PM
We visited waste to wonder in the evening (around 6pm) in the month of April, and found that the most beautiful and appropriate time to visit this theme park is at night.
If you’re visiting in summers, then the best timing to visit this park is around 6-11 pm. During winters you can be here at anytime of the day till 11 pm. The wonder looks more attractive in artificially lit surrounding, it feels magical to be there at night. When we visited this unique theme park it was a cloudy day with light rain showers, that made the experience even more beautiful.
Waste To Wonder has everything attractive to be one of your destination visit, if you are a Delhi resident or if you ever plan to come to Delhi.
